Health Insurance

Having insurance when you are dealing with symptoms of colits is SO very important.  I can honestly say that my family would have probably gone bankrupt had I not had health insurance during the months after I was diagnosed.  There were so many medical costs associated with my UC, that the numbers would have been too much for us to handle.

If you are also wondering about health insurance because you either have UC or think you have UC, I suggest you review some of these offers that exist for online health insurance.

Most of the time, you will get a response within 1 day if you are approved for the insurance, and that is very fast.  There is no reason to wait around for something like this.

  1. Should I expect to be denied coverage for pre-existing conditions? I have had UC since i was 18, and I’m eventually going to have to find my own health insurance (and stop feeding off of my dad’s). I’m worried I won’t find a job that will provide health insurance right away (I’m a classically trained musician), and that if I do find it privately, a) I won’t be able to afford it, and b) they won’t cover me for my UC.

    1. Hey Charlotte,
I would recommend to contact a local health insurance sales person in your area, and let them do the work for you. That is what I did one time. That person should be able to contact all the insurance carriers and find out what you are eligible for, and they will put up with all the hassle instead of you. That would be my recommendation for sure. There will be something for you, and it may just be best letting someone with experience in this figuring it out so you don’t need to waste your time with it
